Open up the Town Hall

The Liberal Democrats are calling for all meetings of Barnet Council to be broadcast live on the internet. Liberal Democrat Group Leader, Cllr Jack Cohen, will put forward a motion at next Tuesday's Full Council Meeting calling on the Council to start videoing meetings.

I went along to the Biddenham village fete today and enjoyed the fete where I met with friends and the sunshine. There were lots of interesting stalls including produce and crafts such as jewellery. And have you ever seen a "human fruit machine"?

Allotments Open Day

On Saturday I was invited to Mile Road allotments to help judge some prizes! Although I am sometimes known tongue-in-cheek as "Farmer Dave" due to my relatively late conversion to gardening, I will admit I'm no expert, but I did my best. I'd give prizes to everyone who has the energy and "stick-at-it-ability" to tend an allotment but apparently that wasn't allowed.

Barnet's signs shows the Council doesn't know which way it's going

Leader of Barnet Liberal Democrats Cllr Jack Cohen is wondering if Barnet Council's left hand knows what its right hand is doing. An eagle eyed resident spotted this odd street signage in West Finchley. Cllr Cohen complains this is yet another example of waste of council taxpayers' money. Cllr Cohen wonders how "any one can have faith in a Council that quite frankly doesn't know where it is going"
