County Council think the roads are getting better!

Liberal Democrats were amazed at the very complacent response by the County Council to their "Fix our Roads" petition. This petition was presented by local campaigner Ian Simpson to the November meeting of Hertfordshire County Council and was signed by over 200 residents of the villages of North Hertfordshire.

The Conservative-run county council has now submitted its latest planning application to build homes on the youth centre site.

The full Council meeting on Tuesday got off to a good start. The Mayor opened proceedings by warning the public gallery not to make a noise or interrupt. Otherwise they would have to shut themselves up.

Councillor Ian Beardsmore, on behalf of the Liberal Democrat Group, has strongly denied Tory claims that pre-meetings prior to the Planning Committee are open to all members. At no time has any Liberal Democrat member been invited to these meetings nor have they ever been informed that meetings take place.
