Battle against blight of bags continues
On 5th October, local residents will see that they are being charged 5p for plastic bags in all large shops to cut wasteful use, with the excess money given to charity.

Beggars Lane, Tring. Hertfordshire County Council to Draw Up New Proposals Following a Site Meeting.
The parking situation in Beggars Lane has been a long running problem stretching back over 10 years. During this time the traffic using the road has steadily increased and as more and more people use the station so more and more people are using the lane to avoid paying for car parking at the station. The situation is made worse by the location of a small trading estate halfway along the lane which contains not only a transport company but also a firm which often receives deliveries from large, heavy lorries.
