Crisis-hit A&E needs extra funds - Farron

With local A&E services urging residents to stay away because they cannot cope, South Lakes MP Tim Farron is calling on the government to provide a £4billion emergency cash injection for the NHS in the Autumn Statement.

Flooding in Worthen

Heather says: "Today's torrential rain saw Millstream flood seriously for the first time since it was cleared over 3 years ago. Silt and debris have been building up over time on the stream bed causing the stream to overflow. I have been pushing the Council for permission to allow us to clear the brook for some time and will renew my efforts. I sincerely hope that we can get this done quicker than last time when it took ages for me to persuade both the Council and the Environment Agency to agree to let us get the work done."

Dementia Friends Information Sessions for Eaton

In the Spring, Norwich is set to become a Dementia Friendly and Inclusive City. In conjunction with this, a steering group to facilitate the creation of Eaton as a Dementia Friendly Community has been set up and meets monthly. Those attending include representatives from Waitrose, Eaton Golf Club, Notcutts, Eaton Village Residents' Association, Ipswich Road URC, Eaton Parishes, Adult Education, Patients' Forum, Alzheimer's Society, Homeinstead and Eaton Councillors. We are working with Marie Lucas, Dementia Development Lead at Age UK Norwich.
