New fares not quite so fair for some travellers...
Under the old bus fare structure, almost all adult return tickets in the First Bus West of England area were priced below £7, in order to keep them below the £7 charged for the First Day South West ticket. However, the new "Fairer Fares For All" structure abolishes return tickets, meaning that almost all 2-way journeys in the West of England area outside of the Bristol zones where the adult single fare is £3.50 or more have increased in price, with many passengers facing big rises as their fares are effectively rounded-up to the £7 charged for the new First West of England Day ticket.

MP: 'Disappointed with government Cumberland & Westmorland wrestling ruling'
South Lakes MP Tim Farron has this afternoon expressed his disappointment that the government has not agreed to remove unnecessary burdens on Cumberland & Westmorland wrestling. The government though have agreed to relax the rules on other types of wrestling.

Government Condemns Surrey’s Excessive Councillor Allowances in response to Lib Dems
Cllr Hazel Watson, Leader of the Liberal Democrats on Surrey County Council wrote to the Secretary of State asking him to investigate the excessive increases in councillor allowances and the excessive number of special responsibility allowances pushed through by the Conservative administration at County Hall. She also asked him to check whether the Government's own regulations had been followed by the County Council.

MP welcomes £1 million lakes transport funding
