Philip Latham met with Shirley Williams to press the case for Stockton having its fair share of public and private investment in renewable green technologies. Shirley reminded Philip that in the 1980's the Conservatives created mass unemployment in the North East and destroyed the old industrial heart of the region. Neither Labour nor Conservatives have put Stockton renewal at the top of their agendas.
"The Liberal Democrats are different. Not only will we oppose any raising of the cap, we will scrap tuition fees for good, including for part-time students," the Liberal Democrat Leader said.
