New Campaign Group calls for Halt on Fuel Duty Rises and Introduction of Fuel Price Stabliser

Shepway Councillors Peter Carroll and Lynne Beaumont have launched FairFuelUK - a new nationwide campaign to fight for fairer fuel prices for UK road freight companies. Peter and Lynne are asking for support from the general public, the road hauliers, road freight trade associations, truck manufacturers and from all the major groups that represent the British Economy - such as the CBI, the FSB and the Chambers of Commerce.

Scandal as Conservatives impose 1000% Stealth Tax rise in Day Centre Charges

Conservative Councillors meeting in a 6 minute meeting have given the nod to a scandalous 1000% rise in charges to ordinary people using day centres in the Royal Borough in a move which could see the Windsor Day Centre in Imperial Road closed. The disgraceful attack on vulnerable elderly people was voted through the Adult Social Services Scrutiny panel by 3 Conservative Councillors claiming that Liberal Democrat members of the panel were two minutes late. The whole meeting was concluded in 6 minutes flat.

Down's syndrome DNA blood test 'better screening offer'

A DNA blood test for Down's syndrome could save nearly all pregnant women from invasive tests like amniocentesis, say experts. Invasive testing takes place in 3% to 5% of pregnant women in the UK - some 30,000 women - and increases the risk of miscarriage.
