A CORONER has called for more lighting at the exit to the Windsor Royal Tattoo after an 85 year old woman was killed when she was hit by a car. The inquest heard that poor lighting had contributed to the death, for which a verdict of accidental death was recorded.
Controversy is raging over the decision by Suffolk County Council to push to outsource its services. The decision is made worse by the lack of prior discussion with the parties involved. Having experienced our own Mental Health Awareness Day in Folkestone Town Centre this week, it was good to experience a different venue for the same exhibitions. I was impressed that so many people remembered us from Thursday, and good to meet new people with displays we had not yet seen.
An informal council meeting on Monday 11th October is to look at ways of speeding up the process of renting allotments : hopefully this will mean the waiting list of 150+ can be reduced and uncultivated plots re-let much more quickly.
