CLLR Roland Frankel has been monitoring the progress being made by the Parish Council in their attempt to have the Youth Centre land registered as a Village Green. This would prevent the County Council's plan to build houses on the site.

Blind pupils 'denied text books'

Blind and partially sighted children are being denied access to many key school text books, the Royal National Institute for the Blind claims. A report for the charity says only 12% of maths and 8% of science GCSE textbooks in England are available in Braille or other accessible formats.

Young carers 'fear seeking help'

Young carers struggle without the help they urgently need, often due to fear that they may be separated from their families, a report suggests. At least 175,000 children and young people look after a parent or sibling - but charity Barnardo's says it believes that many more are going unsupported.
