LIB DEM LEADER WINS LIBEL CASE

Brentwood's Lib Dem leader Cllr David Kendall announced this week that he had won an out of court libel action against the Brentwood & Ongar Conservative Association. Cllr Kendall mounted his legal challenge following the distribution of a Conservative leaflet last year across his County Division entitled the "Big Lib Dem Let down". In the leaflet which related to a Standards Board case brought against his colleague Lib Dem Cllr Barry Aspinell it said the "Lib Dem leader condones misleading of local residents" It also inferred that Cllr Kendall was happy to peddle dishonest propaganda and attempt to hoodwink local people.

Calls for urgent action on Devils Head crossroad

Lib Dem County Councillor David Kendall has asked once again for urgent action to be taken to improve the safety for users of the dangerous Devil's Head cross roads in Warley. His latest call follows yet another accident at the junction last week in which signage was so badly damaged that the crossroads sign was literally ripped out of the ground and left on it's side.

Disappointing Delay in Equal Marriage Consultation

LGBT Lib Dems, the party body concerned with LGBT equality, has expressed disappointment in the delay to the Government's consultation into full marriage equality. Chair Adrian Trett said "We are confident that the Government will deliver on marriage equality, and will keep working with MPs and ministers until this is achieved."
