John Griffiths in his letter (BFP 27/8/10) requested that we get the facts right? I agree so when will the public be given the facts? When will the secret Developers Agreement with Centros be made public? Why did the Council spend £1,457,372 on consultancy advice on the Cattle Market development when according to the Council all they have done is the rent the land for a fee?
Liberal Democrats actively oppose the hiving off of any part of the Island in an un-natural and deeply silly attachment to part of the mainland, to form less than half of a very odd Parliamentary Constituency indeed.
The Delga (Lib Dems for LGBT Action) Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday 18th September, in Suite 7 of the Jury's Inn, Liverpool. All Liberal Democrats hoping to stand as Candidates in next year's elections to Epsom & Ewell Borough Council should apply to the local party by 16th October. "There is still time for new names to be added to our list of Approved Candidates, ahead of our local party's AGM on 9th November", says campaign manager Cllr Julie Morris. Tributes have been paid to Sir Cyril Smith, former Lib Dem MP for Rochdale, who died on Friday. Party Leader Nick Clegg said "Cyril Smith was a larger-than-life character and one of the most recognisable and likeable politicians of his day. He was a true Liberal, dedicated to his constituency, always showing great passion and determination. Cyril was a colourful politician who kept the flame of Liberalism alive when the party was much smaller than it is today."
