Bedford Borough Liberal Democrats set out their desire for an open and honest debate on Britain's position in Europe at a meeting of the Full Council on Wednesday night. LIBERAL Democrats in the Devizes Constituency have warned that a proposal by the government to take away cash reserves that local schools have built up will damage children's education.
The Liberal Democrats have called for new Government plans to take £225million out of the cash reserves of up to 20,000 English schools to be scrapped. In the first year this will be based on cash surpluses in schools at 31st March 2006, irrespective of whether the schools have since spent the money.
