Dundee LibDems reveal large waiting list at Dundee College

Following the Scottish Liberal Democrats publishing figures on Thursday showing that many colleges are turning away four times as many applicants as last year and long waiting lists at many colleges, Dundee City Council Liberal Democrat Group Leader, Cllr Fraser Macpherson, today (Saturday 30th January) said that through a Freedom of Information Request made by the Liberal Democrats, it had been revealed that Dundee College has a waiting list of 765.

Whitby Lib Dems Select Candidate for By-Election

Whitby Liberal Democrats have selected their candidate to fight the borough council by-election in Mayfield Ward. They have selected 67 year old ex-teacher Chris Cawood. Chris was born in the West Riding where he worked as a teacher for 27 years. He moved to Whitby and ran the Lealholm Village Shop for 14 years but is now retired.

Lib Dems Call for Review of Council Newspaper

The Audit Commission has said that councils need to review the value for money of their spending on magazines and newspapers. Liberal Democrats in North Yorkshire fully support the Commission's findings and will ask the Tory County Council bosses to do this.
