Farron urges people to come forward and volunteer for Torchlight
The team behind Torchlight need 160 people to volunteer during the day and evening of Friday 11th September 2015 to help run this fantastic community and family event. Tim has urged local people to come forward to volunteer for the event which he says 'represents the best of Kendal'.

Need help to put out your bin?
There's an Assisted Lift Scheme. These are the criteria : People who are infirm, or have a medical condition or disability, restricting their ability to wheel out the bin for collection. If there are able bodied people in the household capable of putting the bin out you are not entitled to an assisted lift. Open Letter from Andy Kelly
There's no doubt that the Liberal Democrats in Rochdale have taken a battering since 2010, as they have nationally. But, as the Lib Dem parliamentary candidate for Rochdale, I still believe joining and influencing the coalition was right and only thing to do for the good of the country. I am proud that Nick Clegg and the other senior Lib Dems stepped up to the mark, knowing that we would be vilified and criticised despite having only 57 members of parliament.

European who became British is to stand for the Lib-Dems
A man who was born in Europe but "is British by choice" is to stand for the Liberal Democrats as candidate for South Holland and the Deepings in the parliamentary elections. George Smid was born in communist Czechoslovakia, leaving the country in 1981 and gaining British citizenship in 1987.
