Rossendale and Darwen's LibDem Parliamentary spokesman - Dale Mulgrew, has been successfully appointed to the board of the Heritage Trust for the North West . The Trust seeks to find new appropriate uses for historic buildings and encourages good design and craftsmanship. It also aims to restore and retain buildings driving rental income for them.

After the recent armed raid on Tesco, Tring is especially worried. As local Liberal Democrat Councillor Denise Rance put it, "There was no police presence in Tring at the time of the Tesco raid and officers had to come in from other areas. This is wrong and I believe we are very vulnerable."
