Farron wins meeting with Minister to discuss Teaching Assistants pay

Continuing in his campaign to prevent Cumbria's Teaching Assistants from receiving a 30% drop in pay at the hands of Cumbria County Council, Tim Farron MP has succeeded in getting local government minister Bob Neill MP, to agree to meet with himself, Cumbrian teaching assistants and the county council to help mediate and find a solution.

Protest at Pylons being built in the Rae Valley

Saturday saw a mass lobby at Westbury Village Hall against pylons being brought through Chirbury and Worthen Division to Westbury and beyond. These pylons will be built to link Wind farms in Powys to the National grid. "This valley is just off the AONB, has several Higher Level Stewardship Schemes and at least 2 SSSI's." Heather Said today. If the electricity has to come through beautiful areas such a s ours we must be sure that there are no health issues, that tourism is not discouraged and that it remains a place where people want to live. The lines must be underground."

Snail Beach Toilets Saved!

Snailbeach public toilets have been saved at the last minute after sustained negotiations by Cllr Heather Kidd and Worthen and Shelve Parish Council with Shropshire Council.
