Local Lib Dems propose support for Post Bank Plans
Lib Dems tried but failed to get the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead to join the cross party campaign to have a Post Bank. A motion brought to council by the Liberal Democrats called for the Council to write to local MPs calling on them to support the plan.

Council in secret bonus shame gave Chief Executive 33% pay rise
It has now been admitted by the Tories running Mid Sussex District Council that they paid the Chief Executive a secret bonus of £24,000 in 2007/8. Last week they set up a committee to meet in secret to decide his pay and bonus for last year, this year and future years.

Demand for affordable housing increases as larger local workforce enters farming industry
Liberal Democrat Defra Spokesperson Tim Farron MP is calling for local authorities to be allowed to build council houses in rural areas, as the current economic difficulties push British workers into seasonal agricultural jobs formerly occupied by migrant workers.
