Cllr Nick Charsley, Liberal Democrat Leader on Bedford Borough Council, was celebrating with other Liberal Democrat Councillors yesterday as they managed to persuade the Council meeting to support a drastic reduction in the number of signatures needed for the public to call for a debate at Full Council.
Residents in Malmesbury are celebrating following news that the Special Educational Needs provision in the town, which the Conservative-run Wiltshire Council had proposed closing, has been saved following a campaign spearheaded by local councillor Simon Killane.
"Our challenge now is to seize this moment, the liberal moment, and to ensure that we help to deliver a liberal parliament", says Liberal Democrat Leader Nick Clegg.
The motion which ALTER had supported (although it was not our idea) on radical reform of the way that money is created "from thin air" by banks has not been accepted by the Party's Federal Conference Committee (FCC).
