Year 10 Gifted and Talented students from Parkside School in Chesterfield enjoyed a day in London on Monday 10th July, where they were shown around the Houses of Parliament by their constituency MP Paul Holmes. The students were shown both the Houses of Commons and Lords, before participating in a question and answer session with Paul.
Commenting on the ruling from the Advocate General of the European Court of Justice, in the case brought by the Community and AMICUS unions against the Government, that British law controlling pensions does not fully comply with EU law, Paul Holmes, Liberal Democrat MP for Chesterfield said:

Ed Davey, Liberal Democrat spokesperson said "This damning criticism of ministers over post offices by an independent watchdog is unprecedented. With over 5,000 post offices in danger of closing according to these figures, we now have a crisis of unprecedented proportions. We will be leading the parliamentary campaign to call for action before it is too late."
