Wiltshire Council has put in an application to establish a base for its activities in the centre of Devizes. Three vacant shop units will be used as a WC centre when the Browfort offices and registry office are shut down later this year.

Speed limit reduction on Westbury to Urchfont road

Following lengthy campaigns by parish councils and residents Wiltshire Council has agreed to reduce the speed limit on the B3098 from Westbury throuth Bratton, Edington, Erlestoke and on to Urchfont from the national limit down to 50mph.

HSLD responds to Tim Farron's comments on advertising of faith-based healing

Humanist & Secularist Liberal Democrats welcome Party President Tim Farron's clarification on his participation in the cross party letter from the All Party Christians in Parliament group to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA). He acknowledges that the letter is poorly worded, but reasserts its central point that the ASA should not intervene when a religious organization makes faith based claims about the power of prayer.

'Ambleside win shows strength of community campaign' says MP

South Lakes MP Tim Farron has thanked the local community after the University of Cumbria today confirmed plans to bring 700 students back to Ambleside. Tim joined other local community representatives at the Ambleside campus today to hear University managers explain that they will now present a business case to their board in May.
