Why You Should Become a Local Councillor
As much as we should be welcoming the new members to join the Liberal Democrats (indeed we are now the UK's second-largest party), this does not change the fact that we have a mountain to climb before we will be able to win a General Election. This has little to do with our previous record, or our policies. The Liberal Democrats are not seen as a credible alternative to the Labour Party or the Conservative Party because we lag far behind them in terms of elected officials.

Even in my rural corner of England that is Mid Suffolk, membership numbers have increased by more than 150%. Our New Disability Policy
Have you heard about the Disabled Children's Partnership? It was launched over the summer by a large group of charities, including Mencap, Contact and The Children's Trust. The network now links more than fifty organisations who support children with a range of conditions, from the Fragile X Society and the Down's Syndrome Association to Young Lives with Cancer CLIC Sargent and the Myotonic Dystrophy Support Group.
