We MUST save Southend Hospital's A&E Department Norman Lamb MP, the Lib Dem spokesman on health, has been invited by Cllr Carole Mulroney to see for himself the dangers that will arise if our A&E is downgraded and to talk to local protesters and health workers.
Rugby Liberal Democrats are very disappointed that a majority of Councillors did not support their amendment to the Local Plan which would have allowed the public to be consulted on the impacts of the traffic modelling study which was only released days before the Local Plan vote.
At a special Rugby Borough Council meeting on Wednesday 21 June 2017 at the Benn Hall the Rugby Borough Local Plan, which sets out all the sites in the borough which will be allocated for housing and employment land, was approved by a majority of Councillors and will be sent to Government for examination.

Liberal Democrat county councillors in Surrey have launched a petition to save four community recycling centres earmarked for closure by the Conservative administration at County Hall after a huge outcry from local residents. The petition also calls for the county council to scrap plans to reduce the opening times of every CRC in the county by 2 days per week and increase the charge for residents disposing of waste. The four centres earmarked for closure are Bagshot, Cranleigh, Dorking and Warlingham. Cllr Stephen Cooksey, Liberal Democrat spokesperson on the Environment, said today:
