Liberal Democrats in Wolverhampton South West have slammed as 'totally inadequate' a government scheme supposed to help families facing the loss of their homes.

Lib Dems disappointed at Portland Green student housing decision
A major new student housing development has been approved in Ouseburn Ward. The site, known as Portland Green, is located to the west side of City Stadium and may eventually house up to 2000 students.

Rowen adds voice to Christie Campaign!
Rochdale MP Paul Rowen has given his backing to the campaign to get Christie Hospital in Manchester its £6.500,000 back. The petition which now has over 5000 signatures and calls for the Financial Services Compensation (FSCS) to reverse its decision to refuse to refund Christie the money lost when Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander (KSF) bank collapsed in Iceland.

Rochdale MP steps up call for end to fuel poverty!
Rochdale's Lib Dem Shadow Minister for Work and Pensions - Paul Rowen MP yesterday stepped up his call for an end to fuel poverty amongst pensioners. Paul was speaking in a Westminster Debate looking at issues affecting pensioners. Paul also told the debate that the Government has not put enough pressure on fuel companies to help reduce bills and repeated his call for a restoration of the link between pensions and earnings. Paul also called for more support for pensioners aged over 75 as they were 'the most in need'

Bolton Road Fire Shows existing Fire Fighting Resources are stretched
A fire in Bolton Road, Windsor on the afternoon of Saturday 7th March dramatically demonstrated the need for Windsor Fire Station to retain 24 hour manning. At its peak 7 fire appliances, a hydraulic platform and mobile control room were deployed to this quiet residential street to bring the inferno under control.
