Keeping up the Momentum on the Bypass 'Missing Link'
We have moved another step closer to the delivery of the crucial 'missing link' of the Western Bypass, after I signed off the formal decision to authorise Compulsory Purchase Order proceedings for the acquisition of the land required for the road. The publication of this decision is a necessary, formal further step in the process of acquiring the land which is on the long-identified route for the 'missing link' of the bypass, linking the A428 at Biddenham with the A6 at Clapham.

MP calls on public to help save vascular surgery centre
South Lakes MP, Tim Farron has called on the public to 'make their voice' heard over proposals to remove vascular services from Morecambe Bay. Vascular surgery is regularly needed in emergency cases immediately following heart attacks or strokes and Tim feels that the removal of this service will put lives at risk.

Wiltshire councillor Jon Hubbard has called on the council to step in to protect the future of local charity Wiltshire Mind. The charity based at Gifford's Court Surgery Melksham provides support services for people with various mental disorders.

Jude Deakin renews campaign for crossing in Linnet Drive, Chelmsford
After years of campaigning, residents of south Chelmsford were expecting a "Lollipop" crossing in Linnet Drive, Chelmsford for a trial period of three months starting in September. It was agreed by the new Chelmsford Local Highways Panel in July. However, Essex County Council has now refused to back the Highways Panel and everything is up in the air again.
