London MEP Baroness Sarah Ludford, Liberal Democrat European justice spokeswoman, has written to the Turkish Ambassador in London calling for a reversal of the recent ruling by an Istanbul court to ban the LGBT organisation, Lambdaistanbul.
I read with some concern the views of Bury Society and the Suffolk Preservation Society. To care for the character and environment in which we live is a worthwhile cause. In Bury St Edmunds the average wage is below the national wage, while the cost of housing is above the national housing. Curbing house building will only widen this gap.

In a spectacular by-election victory Liberal Democrats in neighbouring Forest heath District Council stormed to victory with 55% of the vote taking the seat from the Conservatives after their existing Councillor resigned. Labour's local collapse was highlighted by their failure to even find a candidate. A characteristic of this by-election was the high turnout at over 38%.
