Liberals gather in Bournemouth to pioneer new strategies to rebuild and win again

Following the UK General Election on May 7, the Liberal Democrats have taken stock, rallied the membership and elected a new Party Leader, Tim Farron. With 20,000 members having joined the Party since May and 3 recent council election victories, the #libdemfightback is well underway. Liberal parties across Europe have faced challenging elections in the recent past, and it is essential that we share our experiences and learn from both each others' mistakes and winning strategies. In order to kick-start this debate, the Liberal Democrats International Office brought togther a distinguished panel, including Hans van Baalen, ALDE Vice President, MP and MEP for VVD and former President of Liberal International, Annelou van Egmond, the D66 Director of Communications and key architect of the Party's revival, Hans Stein, the Head of International Relations for the German FDP; Khatuna Samnidze, the Chairman of the Republican Party of Georgia, and Victoria Marsom, the Head of Strategic Seat Operation for the Liberal De

News from Rickmansworth Liberal Democrats - Three Rivers, a Lib Dem Run Council

It has been a busy time at the Withey Beds Nature Reserve. The boardwalk has been extended, the interpretation boards are being replaced, some small dragon fly ponds have been created and some new types of willows introduced. Wildlife recorded includes slow worms, glow worms, grass snakes, roe deer, muntjac, bats, badger, newts and numerous birds and insects. Preparations are being made for the introduction of 6 Dexter cattle next spring. This is the traditional way of managing and improving grass land for the benefit of wildlife. Not only do the cattle eat the vegetation in a way that encourages wild life, but their dung benefits at least 250 insect species which of course attracts bats and birds.The cattle will be grazing the field where the pill box is sited. Today (Sunday 11 October 2015) the Rugby Borough Council website lists David Ellis who was elected as conservative for Wolston and the Lawfords Ward in 2014 as an independent. Has David Ellis decided he can no longer stomach the tory group on Rugby Borough Council?
